Working at Fairland House

Whilst on site we identified a significant incident which had not been reported to safeguarding or CQC and the lessons learnt document was not sufficiently robust.

Staff felt there was an improving picture with more consistent management support across the day and out of hours, more staff and regular staff meetings where staff felt they could give feedback.

There was a high use of agency staff although recruitment of new staff was improving... some agency profiles showed agency staff were relatively new to their roles with limited training and experience.

Training statistics had recently improved and although some staff’s supervisions and appraisals had lapsed staff were receiving direct observations of their practice.

The manager was not yet registered with CQC and had only been in the service three months at the time of our assessment.
