There were enough staff available at all times to support people safely. People were supported by staff who were recruited through robust processes and received induction.

Staff received training in areas that included health and safety, first aid, communication and behavioural support needs. Staff knowledge from training was tested shortly afterwards to confirm their learning.

Staff felt supported in their role by the registered and deputy managers who were experienced and knowledgeable. One member of staff told us, “We are a unique team. We are driven and supported by our manager.”

People were supported to engage in a range of activities including day trips to Kew Gardens, Thorpe Park, zoo, cinema, gym, swimming and cultural days. Use of a sensory room reduced anxieties.
