Staff understood their responsibility to safeguard people and knew how and when to report safeguarding concerns to the relevant persons and/or agencies. Records showed there had been no safeguarding concerns about people using the service in the last 12 months.

A staff member told us, “We are helping each other, and this makes the work go smoothly and fast. If we get stuck, we help each other out. There is a good relationship between all the staff.”

We observed staff were present, available and provided care and support to people when they needed this. One person told us, “There isn’t a high turnover of staff. They seem to keep their core people.”

The registered manager made sure safeguarding people always remained a priority for the service. They told us, “In supervisions, I am always testing staff knowledge and check they know what safeguarding is and what to do.”
