People were protected from abuse and avoidable harm. Staff had a good understanding of safeguarding and were confident to raise concerns if required. If care had not gone to plan this was reviewed and any lessons learnt, shared with staff.

There was a positive and open culture. Staff told us they felt valued and supported in their roles, through supervisions and team meetings.

Staff told us there were usually enough staff to support people with their assessed needs.

Staff receive online training prior to working with people, there is also additional face to face training bespoke to the service.

Feedback from staff about the manager was mostly positive. Comments included, “[Manager] is both supportive and knowledgeable. They provide clear guidance, are approachable, and always make themselves available to discuss any concerns or ideas for improving care”.

Relatives told us of recent improvements, the service proactively worked with them to develop support plans and introduce new meaningful activities. These included regular bike riding in the local area, football clubs, shopping trips, outings to pubs, cafes and visits to the seaside.
