People felt safe and were protected from the risk of harm and abuse. Systems kept people safe. There was a safeguarding policy, staff had safeguarding training.
Most staff were positive about the leadership of the service and all said they felt managers in the service were caring towards them and the people that used the service. All the staff we spoke with said they would recommend the service as a good place to work.
The provider had ensured there were enough staff deployed to meet the needs of people at the service at the time we carried out this assessment. However, some relatives, staff and professionals had said there were not enough staff.
Staff were well trained and competent in their jobs. Staff training was good, and new staff were receiving the training they needed as part of their induction.
Staff told us they felt listened to and all said they were supported in their roles by an approachable management team.
There was little use of communal areas taking place for groups of people when we visited, and people had little stimulating social activity to prevent feelings of isolation.
