"Strong safety practices and good staff training, but no registered manager in post and some agency workers hold it back."
People were protected from the risks of ill-treatment and abuse as staff had been trained... provider had assessed the risks... Staff members were knowledgeable about these risks... safe support with their medicines... followed effective infection prevention... reviewed any incidents or accidents.
Staff members told us they found the management team supportive, and their opinions were welcomed and valued. They were confident they would be supported by the provider should they ever need to raise such a concern.
People were supported by enough staff who were available to safely support them without any unreasonable delay. One person said, 'I don't think there is ever a problem with staffing. Sometimes there are a few faces I don't recognise'
Per 2019 comprehensive inspection: Staff received training in topics such as choking risks, distressed signs, reactions and behaviours and dementia. Figures had risen from 57% to 97% completion.
At the time of our inspection there was not a registered manager in post. However, a manager had been appointed and was going through the registration process.
Per 2019 comprehensive inspection: A dedicated activity staff member organised planned events. Pictures of activities... local school children performing for the people... staff got people involved in music and dance.
No permanent manager in post, as the current one is still going through registration.
