Staff had a good awareness of safeguarding, could identify the different types of abuse and knew what to do if they had any concerns about people's safety. Regular auditing of medicine procedures had taken place.

Staff commented they all worked well together as a team. A member of staff told us, 'The manager supports us, and we help each other out.'

People and staff told us the service had enough staff to keep people safe. A relative told us, 'I'm not aware of any times they were very short staffed. They are regular staff too.'

Staff had received training in looking after people, including safeguarding, health and safety, equality and diversity. Staff completed an induction when they started working at the service and 'shadowed' experienced members of staff.

Staff commented they felt supported and had a good understanding of their roles and responsibilities. The registered manager told us, 'I'm very proud of my team and the care that we give.'

There was a varied range of activities on offer which included, music, arts and crafts, quizzes, exercise, reminiscence sessions and visits from external entertainers.
