Working at Daleside Nursing Home

Not enough staff around at busy times like mornings, so care feels rushed, and they use some agency workers.

We observed a lack of staff always present in communal areas at busy times of the day, such as mornings when other people were being assisted with their morning routine... Rotas demonstrated there was some reliance on agency workers to maintain staffing levels

Safety issues like unclean hoist frames and wheelchairs, plus some medicine records not up to date.

Some equipment needed deep cleaning, for example, hoist frames and some wheelchairs... one person had an agreed plan... however, the medication administration record (MAR) did not reflect this

Few activities happening, so the job is mostly routine personal care like helping with washing and meals.

Limited activities were observed during our visit. We observed long periods when people were asleep in their armchairs and the only entertainment available was watching TV or listening to music... planned activities... did not always take place
