Recruitment skips checks like past care job references and full work history dates, and early shifts sometimes uncovered leaving staff busy.

Some staff had started working before relevant references from previous employment in social care being sought. Staff's employment history did not detail dates of start and end of previous employment. Staff indicated that when the early shift was not covered it was very busy.

Few activities on offer, with gaps in regular ones for people staying in bedrooms or with dementia, so mostly routine care.

There was a lack of evidence of regular activities for people who stayed in their bedrooms and for people living with dementia.

Managers' audits and quality checks miss problems like unsafe recruitment and consent forms not done right.

Quality assurance systems were in place and happening regularly, however these had not always been effective in identifying the issues found at this inspection.
