Working at Cotleigh

People told us they felt safe. Staff were trained about how to spot signs of abuse and told us they felt comfortable to whistle blow on poor practice. Medicines Administration Records (MAR) charts were completed and audits were undertaken.

Staff told us the morale within the team was good and they worked well together. A staff member told us, “Staff are lovely, we work together as a team, more importantly staff make sure everything is done for resident's, you can see that they care.”

Staff were trained in a range of subjects, including dementia, first aid and positive behaviour support. The provider had also recently introduced further best practice training modules.

Staff told us the home was a lovely place to work, and they felt listened to and well supported in their roles. The managers are good, we have report systems, we can raise any problems in the workplace. The manager is lovely.

People were offered a range of activities, including trips out, singers, bingo, animal therapy and themed nights. The manager Activities co coordinators attended an activity meeting with the providers other services.
