The provider had a proactive and positive culture of safety... Accidents and incidents were documented in detail... Systems were in place to review and analyse these... Staff told us that they regularly had opportunities to learn when anything went wrong.

All staff we spoke with commented on the approachability of the registered manager and the deputy manager. Staff had regular supervisions, handovers and meetings... “It is always so relaxed here, [registered manager] is around all of the time.”

We observed sufficient staff on shift to safely meet people’s needs. People and relatives told us that there was always plenty of staff around and spoke positively about the continuity of this. “You always see the same faces.”

Staff knew people well and received the appropriate training and support to ensure they could fulfil their roles. Staff had received appropriate training to ensure they gave medicines safely, and had their competency checked frequently.

People, relatives and staff spoke positively about the management team and their approachability. All would be confident in raising any concerns and these being addressed quickly.
