The monitoring and recording of some medicines was identified as an area for some improvement... we found 3 bottles of medicine, that should have been recorded in a register, had not been added. We also found 1 bottle of medicine had been opened... that should have been disposed of... and was last administered to the person.
Staff told us they felt well supported by the provider and the management team... One staff member said, We have great staff, work together well, always communicating. We understand each other.
people received care from a permanent staff team and there had been no use of agency staff. During our site visits, we found there was enough staff on duty to support people in a timely manner. Call bells were answered promptly and the staff were organised in their duties around the home.
Overall, staff had received appropriate training to support them in their roles; with the exception of training for sepsis which was immediately addressed by the registered manager.
Everyone we spoke with knew who the registered manager was and spoke very highly of them. Staff described the registered manager as approachable, helpful, supportive and staff felt valued by them.
Most people and their relatives felt that the activities and stimulation in the service had improved although there were some people that said the activities were the same and they were bored. There were pictures of people enjoying birthday celebrations and cultural awareness events.
