Medicines aren't always handled safely with unclear records and old medicines including controlled drugs not thrown away properly, and infection risks from washing dirty laundry in resident showers.

Medicines belonging to a person who left the service two months before our visit were still stored at the service. These medicines included a controlled drug... Staff washed soiled laundry in a shower which was also used by people for washing.

The manager is there but doesn't always keep good oversight with incomplete records and audits that miss problems like safety gaps.

The provider's systems and processes for monitoring and improving quality were not always effectively implemented. Records were not always well-maintained or complete.

Staffing is adequate with good retention but recruitment checks and training records are often unclear or missing.

Records did not always evidence checks they said they had made. Records of staff training within individual files were not up to date or clear.
