Not enough activities so people get bored and the job is mostly routine personal care.

There was a lack of activities taking place and we found at times people were disengaged. There was a planner in place for activities, however people told us they did not always take place.

Problems handling medicines like not checking strong painkillers often enough and missing instructions for as-needed doses.

Medicines were not always monitored safely. Controlled medicines were not always checked in line with the provider's-controlled drug policy. Some 'as required' (PRN) guidelines were not in place.

Bosses miss key oversight like not reporting falls to the council properly and audits failing to spot medicine issues.

The registered manager and provider demonstrated a gap in knowledge and understanding regarding reporting incidents to the local authority in line with local reporting procedures. Medicines audits in place were not effective.
