Staff felt they could raise any issues with the registered manager. They knew they would be listened to and fair, prompt action would follow. The culture was an open, positive one.

There were sufficient staff to meet people’s needs safely, including when people needed help unexpectedly. The staff team was a combination of experienced staff who had been at the service for a number of years, and some relatively new staff. The balance was working well. The provider was not heavily reliant on agency staff.

Per 2019 comprehensive inspection: Staff training in key areas was up to date. New staff completed a comprehensive induction, including the Care Certificate. Records confirmed they had regular supervision meetings.

The registered manager and team were approachable and ensured staff had the right training and support in place. Where we signposted them towards good practice and to make minor improvements, they were responsive to this feedback.

Per 2019 comprehensive inspection: People had access to a wide range of activities such as art therapy, indoor gardening, chair exercises and movie afternoons. The activities co-ordinator maintained records of attendance.
