Staff received an induction when they first started working at the service which included shadowing more experienced staff. Staff were supported to obtain the care certificate... Training was monitored by the management team to ensure this was kept up to date.
Quality checks were carried out to monitor the service and identified where improvements could be made. We found that in most areas these checks were effective, but had not identified the concerns relating to fire safety.
Two relatives told us they thought their loved ones were bored and did not have enough stimulation. A member of staff confirmed that 'There is room for improvement especially around support and not care, we need to promote independence more.'
