Medicines were now managed safely. Staff understood and managed risks, however staff did not always record in daily notes where they had taken action needed as per one person’s risk assessment.

All the staff we spoke with said they felt valued and supported. Comments included, “We are like one big happy family.” And, “Yes, I feel valued and cared about."

Rotas showed there was enough staff in the home to provide safe care. Agency cover was needed occasionally, and all agency staff were provided with an in-depth induction process.

Managers made sure staff received training and regular appraisals to maintain high-quality care. Training statistics were above 90% for all subjects.

People told us they knew who the registered manager was and that they were approachable. The registered manager and the provider were responsive to our feedback during the inspection.

Since our last inspection, there was an activities coordinator in post, who had worked hard to engage people with various activities such as Mother’s Day and Valentine’s Day celebrations.
