No activities coordinator means lots of routine care with only basic events like bingo and occasional outings.

There was not a dedicated activity co-ordinator working in the service. Not all days were filled with activity, and there was none planned during the weekend periods.

Staff get stretched in afternoons and evenings when needs are high.

A Staff member told us, 'Staffing levels are fine in the mornings but the afternoons get a bit stretched.' And a second staff member said, 'It's always very busy but as people are ageing their needs are increasing, so I think we could do with more staff.'

Only standard training and supervisions with some specialist courses, no career development or funded qualifications mentioned.

Records showed that staff had received training in safeguarding adults, first aid, manual handling... Staff had also completed courses in specific areas such as diabetes and pressure area care.
