The service was in breach of legal regulations in relation to medicine management, safeguarding... Provider did not always ensure safeguarding procedures were followed and any allegations or incidents were reported to external agencies accordingly.

'Staff morale is rock bottom now. We got an email last week saying we are not allowed [provisions] as this will be classed as theft. We all feel undervalued.' 'Staff appear fed up and deflated. There is no enthusiasm anymore'

Safe and effective staffing Score:1 ... Most staff told us they needed more staff to ensure they were able to complete tasks, spend more time with people and not feel overwhelmed. The provider did not always ensure all required recruitment checks... were gathered before staff started work.

Not all staff had required training such as first aid... safeguarding; moving and handling... Staff also told us they did not have training in most of these topics. Staff told us they have not had supervision meetings, and some were not sure if their probation was completed.

The registered manager did not always maintain regular communication with the whole team... Staff said, 'Communication is lacking. I only get told about the previous shift.'

People were not always supported to engage in meaningful activities to ensure stimulation and reduce the risk of social isolation. Staff would congregate in one place rather than engage with people... Some people told us they were not able to go out for a walk as there was no staff to support them.
