Activities took place most days within the service, and a series of day trips had been planned. There was a range of activities taking place in the home that people could chose to take place in.
Managers' audits and checks are missing gaps in care like missed repositioning or low fluid intake, so problems build up without fixes.
Auditing and governance checks had not identified shortfalls in care, so these had not been addressed, and lessons had not been learnt.
Staff numbers get mixed feedback with some shifts and weekends feeling short staffed and no checks on call bell response times.
“The trouble is there’s not always enough of them, I have heard staff say to residents, there’s only me on, sorry you’ve had to wait” and “there are less staff on a weekend”.
Medication handling has slips like not dating opened creams and using thickeners prescribed for someone else on others.
