Working at Broomcroft House Care Home

Staff understood what it meant to protect people from abuse. They told us they were confident any concerns they raised would be taken seriously by the management team. Medicines were stored safely and securely.

Staff we spoke with were enthusiastic about their jobs, and showed care and understanding both for the people they supported and their colleagues.

There were sufficient numbers of staff employed to meet people's needs. Throughout the day of this inspection we saw there were enough staff to meet people's care and support needs in a timely way.

Staff were provided with an induction, relevant training and regular supervision to make sure they had the right skills and knowledge to support people.

The registered manager had a good oversight of the service and was experienced in their role. People, their relatives and staff told us the registered manager was supportive and approachable.

There was a range of activities and therapies available to people at Broomcroft House, as well as support to engage with the local community. Regular activities included pet therapy and visits from a local nursery school.
