Working at Brookdale Care Home

Systems were in place to help safeguard people from abuse... Staff knew who to report any concerns to and were confident these would be acted upon. All incidents were monitored and reviewed by managers.

Staff said they felt well supported by their colleagues and management team. One staff member said, 'The staff are very good. We work together and support each other...'

Sufficient numbers of staff were available. These were regularly reviewed by managers to ensure people's current and changing needs were met.

Staff said training relevant to their roles was provided. This was a mixture of face to face and online training.

The registered manager was enthusiastic about their role and was proactive in identifying areas to further enhance the home. Staff said the registered manager was supportive and approachable.

Designated staff were responsible for coordinating the activities... We observed a range of activities taking place... a Halloween quiz and themed buffet lunch, a movie, an exercise session and crafts.
