Medicines were still not safely managed... The service was in breach of legal regulation in relation to the ways people’s medicines were managed safely... During the assessment we found 2 medicine errors that the service had not identified.
Staff told us they felt well supported in their role... Staff were very positive about working at the service... One staff member said, 'The team are lovely. Management are making me feel comfortable. It feels like a second home.'
We received some mixed feedback about the staffing levels although most people felt staff were quick to respond... but others felt staffing levels could be better. One person commented, 'I think sometimes they could do with more staff... they are busy.' Recruitment processes were not always followed... employment references had not always been sought.
The provider's training records showed that many staff had not completed training in line with their own policy, including mandatory and refresher training. Therefore, we were not assured that staff were always able to meet people's needs in a way that was safe.
The service remains in breach of regulation for... systems of governance... Whilst the provider had identified many of the areas of shortfall... it had not identified all these, and the action taken had not yet led to the required changes being implemented and embedded within the daily practice.
People spoke positively about the activities available, with one person telling us, 'There’s loads of activities going on like chair exercises and I like going in the garden... trip out to Manchester airport on Friday. We go to garden centres and mills. They have singing and brass bands come in.'
