The provider had a proactive and positive culture of safety, based on openness and honesty. Staff listened to concerns about safety and investigated and reported safety events. Lessons were learnt to continually identify and embed good practice.
Staff told us they felt supported and worked well together as a team. The provider and registered manager had fostered an open culture at the service where people, relatives and staff had opportunities to raise concerns.
The provider made sure there were enough qualified, skilled and experienced staff, who received effective support, supervision and development. They worked together well to provide safe care that met people’s individual needs.
Staff were supported with on-going learning and development this included face to face learning from the NHS education team. One member of staff said, “I have completed diabetes and catheter training face to face, which was really good training.”
Staff told us senior management were always available to be contacted and were very supportive to the staffing team. One member of staff said, “I feel confident to raise any concerns, the management are very supportive, and we have a really good team working together.”
