Staff developed strong bonds creating a family atmosphere; staff attended parties on days off and were passionate about improving people's lives.

Most of the staff had worked at the home for a long time; one for 11 years and another for 18 years, with sufficient numbers to allow active lives.

All staff had completed an NVQ in adult social care with support for higher levels, plus specific training like diabetes, epilepsy and Makaton, and regular supervisions.

The registered manager worked alongside staff and was actively involved in people's care; staff said 'He is very friendly and supportive and is quite involved'.
