The provider had a proactive and positive culture of safety, based on openness and honesty. Staff were able to clearly describe to us how they would identify potential abuse and what action they would take to escalate this appropriately.
All staff fed back to us how supportive the management team was, they described the managers as very caring and the workplace being like “a home from home.” Staff said, “It is a nice place to work because the organisation supports it staff, values teamwork.”
Through our observations and feedback from staff it was evident there were enough staff to support people in a safe and effective way. Staff said they were able to split themselves well throughout the shift to allow them to complete their tasks as well as spend time with people.
Staff were provided with relevant training and support. Staff told us, “Any support I have asked for to enhance my skills in my role has been acknowledged and training put in place.”
The registered manager operated an open-door approach, being visible and available for people and staff. Staff said, “Our management team is approachable, and I believe they're good leaders who prioritise resident care and staff well-being.”
