Systems were in place to report and manage safeguarding concerns. However, the system was not fully effective as we found one safeguarding concern not documented and others where the reporting process had not been fully completed.
There was a positive atmosphere and culture within the service which was recognised by staff, relatives and people. A staff member said, 'There is a good atmosphere. All the staff say it is a nice working environment.'
Rotas indicated agency staff was no longer being used. One relative said, 'They have really loyal staff that have been there a lot of years.'
Regular supervision of staff during January 2020 to April 2020 had not occurred. Improvements had been made. Staff told us and records confirmed staff were receiving regular support through supervision.
The service had a manager in post but they were not yet registered with the Care Quality Commission. The previous registered manager had left in November 2019. Since this time there had been several changes within the management team.
Per 2019 comprehensive inspection: People, staff and relatives said, and we saw displayed, a programme of activities to support a variety of interests. This included exercise, art, pottery, gardening and knitting.
