Working at Blackwell Care Centre

The service had a proactive and positive culture of safety... Accidents and incidents were reported, reviewed and analysed for themes and trends. Lessons were learned to continually identify and embed good practice.

“There has been a big change in team spirit with staff.” Staff told us, “I feel my opinion matters and is acted upon.”

There were enough suitably qualified and experienced staff. Our observations and staff rota’s showed staffing levels were in line with the assessed needs of the service.

Staff were up to date on their mandatory training.

Leaders were visible, approachable and led by example, displaying the provider’s values. Staff told us leaders were fair and approachable.

A range of activities were available... such as new cinema room and cultural events were celebrated. The service had good community links, such as inter-generational activities with the local nursery.
