Working at Belvidere Residential Care Home

People ran out of medicines for up to 17 days with poor records and some risks like stairs not assessed properly.

We found two people had ran out of their medicines which placed them at risk of harm. For one person they did not have their medicines administered for a period of 17 days and another person for a period of three days.

Gaps in essential training leave staff less ready for some resident needs.

the training matrix provided indicated gaps where not all staff had completed essential training for their role.

Recruitment checks incomplete with job history gaps unchecked and one worker started before background check done, plus sometimes short staffed at busy times.

We found gaps in employment for three staff which had not been explored. We also found one staff member had commenced employment in the home before their Disclosure and barring service check (DBS) had been received... other staff told us an additional staff member at peak times would be beneficial.
