Working at Belgrave Court Residential Care Home

The provider had a proactive and positive culture of safety... Staff were knowledgeable about the systems... Medicines were administered by staff who were trained and competent... a recording issue which was immediately addressed.

People, relatives and staff felt staffing levels were appropriate... One staff member told us, 'Yes, we have enough staff now. We still have times where we can be short when sickness is reported but it usually gets covered.'

Staff completed a range of training courses which included safeguarding, moving and handling, fire safety, health and safety and food hygiene. In addition... training around specific health conditions, such as dementia, Parkinson’s and diabetes were completed.

The service employed an activities coordinator who arranged a variety of activities... quizzes, bingo, cinema afternoons, trips to the shops and walks on the seafront. People were happy with the range of activities.
