No permanent manager in post, causing some uncertainty for staff from recent leadership changes.

The registered manager was not working in the service at the time of the inspection... recent changes in leadership and ways of working had impacted on some staff, creating some uncertainty.

Not enough staff in the bungalows sometimes, so staff were stretched and people had to wait.

staffing levels in the bungalows area were not always adequate... only 2 staff were available to support people. When both staff members were occupied... no capacity to respond to other people’s requests.

Gaps in risk assessments and unsafe environment issues like broken radiator covers and stairwell hazards.

Risk assessments were in place; however, the quality of assessments varied... provider did not always detect and control potential risks in the care environment... broken radiator cover, poor storage of maintenance equipment, and safety concerns in stairwells.
