Working at Barn Park Residential Home

No proper activities programme or coordinator yet, so the job is mostly routine personal care.

Visitors were sometimes unsure how much people participated in activities or social events, but felt their relatives chose how they wanted to spend their time. We reviewed records of social interactions and activities to see if they met their individual needs and staff acknowledged this was an area for further improvement.

Some safety issues still there like unclean areas, smells and risks for people with dementia.

On 2 out of the 3 days we visited there was a smell of urine in one area of the home... some furniture and areas were unclean... several environmental issues which posed a potential risk for the safety of people living with dementia.

Weak oversight from leaders with provider not always on site and governance still not good enough.

The provider was in regular contact with the new manager but had to limit their visits... Governance, management and sustainability Score:1... systems and processes... needed further improvement to ensure compliance with regulations.
