People told us they felt safe. Risks to people’s care were assessed and appropriate plans put in place. Overall, medicines were well managed, and we did not find any medication errors. Accidents and incidents were being recorded, patterns analysed, and actions taken.

We received mixed feedback from people, relatives and staff about the number of staff on shift. People told us, “There are not enough staff”; relatives “I don’t personally think they have enough staff because they are constantly on the go.”
Managers ensured staff received training and regular supervision to maintain high-quality care. Staff had received additional training from local healthcare professionals around falls prevention and management.

Activity staff encouraged people to stay active with gentle exercises. In one of our visits, we observed a local community group who supported people with learning disabilities develop a singing activity at the home.
