The provider had a proactive and positive culture of safety, based on openness and honesty. Staff listened to concerns about safety and investigated and reported safety events.
Staff told us they felt supported by the new manager. One staff member told us, “[Manager] is open, she has gone out of her way to get things done, it’s been a challenge, but she shows us the right way to do things.”
We received mixed opinion from people, their relatives and staff on the staffing levels in the service. The majority of people we spoke with told us they did not feel there was enough staff available in the communal areas of the home.
Staff had received training in how to safeguard people from abuse and understood how to report any concerns. Staff confirmed they had received infection control training. Staff had received medicine training and had regular checks of their competency.
