People felt safe... staff showed a good understanding of safeguarding processes... risk assessments... The registered manager collated and analysed information from all accidents and incidents each month to identify trends and learning points.

Staff were clear about their roles and responsibilities and felt well supported. They told us there was an on call system out of hours and the registered manager was always available if needed.

Staff told us they completed mandatory training and had good access to additional training. They had completed training in caring for people with dementia and in managing behaviours that challenge... some staff were undertaking nationally recognised qualifications in care and management.

Everyone we spoke with spoke about the approachability of the registered manager, their visibility within the service and their willingness to do everything they could to improve people's well being and experience.

An activities coordinator was appointed... quality and variety of activities provided... crafts, floor activities such as bowling, memory or reminiscence days, pantomime, seated table tennis, balloon volleyball, quizzes, gardening.
