The culture of the service was supportive, open and transparent. Staff told us they enjoyed working at the service. One said, 'It is a nice place to work, we help and support people.'

Staff undertook mandatory training in subjects such as mental health and behaviours that challenge. National Vocational Qualifications in care were offered to staff to enhance their skills.
The registered manager had an 'open door' policy in place so people living at the service, staff or visitors could speak with them at any time. Staff said, 'The manager is friendly, open and listens to you.'
There was an activities co-ordinator who understood people's hobbies and interests. We saw arts and crafts people had created were displayed. People were encouraged to continue their hobbies and undertake activities both in house and within the community.
