Working at Aranlaw House Care Home

The service had a proactive and positive culture of safety, based on openness and honesty. They listened to concerns about safety and investigated and reported safety events. Lessons were learnt to continually identify and embed good practice.

The service made sure there were enough qualified, skilled and experienced staff, who received effective support, supervision and development. They worked together well to provide safe care that met people’s individual needs.

Staff received training and support relevant to their roles. Staff told us they were satisfied with training and development opportunities. The service had created roles within the staff team of, ‘Champion.’ For example, a dementia champion and a dignity champion.

Staff told us they felt fully supported by the registered manager. A member of staff said, “The registered manager is the go-to lady, she is so supportive.”

Staff said, “I'm really proud of the activities we provide here... we knew today who would want to join in singing and who would prefer the church service.” “gardening club, bringing in animals and entertainers.”
