Working at Alma Green Residential Care Home

Staff numbers are enough but they use agency workers sometimes to cover when people call in sick.

Enough staff were on duty to meet the needs of people and minimum levels of agency staff were used to cover sickness and absences. Some people we spoke with felt more staff would be beneficial.

Only standard training like mandatory courses and supervisions, no specialist training or funded qualifications mentioned.

Mandatory training was available for all staff members. This helped to ensure the workforce was kept up to date with current legislation and good practice guidance.

Activities run by a coordinator with variety like music and outings but no special innovative programmes.

An activity co-ordinator had been appointed. More structured activities had been introduced based on people's preferences and wishes... visits by musicians... plans were in place for more trips out.
