"Staff feel supported by approachable managers in an inclusive culture with good activities, but inconsistent supervision and risk recording need improvement."
There were systems in place to keep people safe and there was an open and transparent culture. However, aspects of recording and review in relation to risk management needed to be more robust in some cases.
Staff feedback indicated the service had an inclusive culture. One staff member told us their experience was positive and said, “I can talk to everybody here, I feel included.” Feedback included, “Kindness and care is the main value. From feedback it feels like we all work well as a team.”
Overall, staff felt there was usually enough staff to meet people’s needs and said things had stabilised with less agency staff being used following a recruitment drive. They told us, “There is generally enough staff” and “Overall there is enough staff, you could always do with extra member of staff.”
Whilst staff felt supported and liaised regularly with managers, they had not all received supervision in line with the provider’s policy. supervision/appraisals had not always been carried out in line with the provider's policy.
Staff felt supported by the management team who were open and responsive. They said, “Managers are very approachable “and “They will help you in any way.”
The home had an activity coordinator and we saw some group-based activities taking place. There was a well-being notice board which advertised various events and activities on offer.

“Overall there is enough staff, you could always do with extra member of staff.”
Not all staff have had their regular one-to-one meetings with managers as promised.

Recording of risks and accidents is not always fully up to date or detailed enough.
records related to these needed to be more robust... Risk assessments were being reviewed... reviews of their care plan did not sufficiently analyse the risk/effectiveness of measures in place.
