"Staff enjoy a positive culture and good training, but no permanent manager, staffing shortages and lack of activities hold it back."
At the time of our inspection, we were made aware of a safeguarding incident which had happened at the home, which hadn’t been reported to the local authority in a timely way and the provider did not have oversight of this.
Staff said they enjoyed their roles and working at the home. A staff member told us, 'I enjoy the job and it’s a good place to work. All staff get on well and the culture is good.' Another said, 'The management is good, and I feel supported; they look after staff welfare.'
Some of the feedback we received from people living at the home was that more staff were required. One person said, 'There are definitely not enough staff, they are all so busy doing a number of things at the same time.' Staff said, 'We manage, but it would be nice to have an additional member of staff sometimes to manage some stress.'
Staff told us they received enough training to support them in their role, with a training matrix in place showing which courses had been completed. Staff supervisions and appraisals had taken place, although these records could not be located easily when we requested them.
At the time of this inspection, there was no registered manager in post. The registered manager had left the home in June 2025, and a new manager was in the process of registering with CQC.
People (or relatives) told us there were not enough activities or trips out taking place. We did not see any evidence of activities taking place for people throughout the course of the inspection and observed people sat in lounge areas for long periods throughout the day.
No permanent manager in place, so leadership oversight is weak and issues like record-keeping slip through.

Not enough staff on shifts, leaving everyone rushed and stressed, especially with more residents moving in.

No activities programme or coordinator, so days are just routine care with people sitting around bored.
