"Approachable management and positive culture support staff well, but staffing shortages require overseas recruitment and safety needs more time for consistency."
Enough improvement had been made at this inspection and the provider was no longer in breach of regulation 12... Staff understood where people required support to reduce the risk of avoidable harm.
Both the registered manager and the provider helped instil a positive culture... A staff member told us, 'Yes, it's got much better here in terms of being a learning culture.'
There were enough staff on duty to meet people's needs... People and their relatives told us they were familiar with staff, 'They are mainly the same staff.'
Staff support processes and practices had improved... One staff member confirmed, 'I have regular supervisions and appraisals, it's two way and I find it supportive.'
A new registered manager had been reinstated... Staff also spoke highly of the manager, comments included, '[Manager] is approachable and has an open door' and '[Manager] actually cares not only for the people but the staff too.'
Since the last inspection a full-time activity co-ordinator had been recruited. Their sole role was to help facilitate activities for people both as a group and on an individualised basis.
Staffing is adequate with a core team but they keep hiring from overseas due to shortages.
Due to national staff shortages in the health and social care sector, the registered provider continued to recruit staff from overseas.
Safety has got better with new processes but it needs more time to show it works every day without fail.
Further time was required to evidence consistency of good practice.
Training covers the basics like inductions and supervisions but no specialist courses or qualifications funded.
Staff were provided with a structured induction programme... staff who administered medication now underwent competency assessments.
